The Creative Client: forecast public art
The NeED: A LEARNING tool (LMS)
Birthed from a two-year pilot partnership between Forecast Public Art and the American Planning Association (APA), to develop and pilot a Public Art and Placemaking Tool for City Planners. Made possible through the generous support of the National Endowment for the Arts “Our Town” program and Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation.
The Public Art and Placemaking Tool for City Planners is sought to be a resource for planners serving small and mid-sized American cities. By developing this learning tool, Forecast seeks to fill a void in the current options available to planners, as well as those in allied professions, such as landscape architecture, engineering and architecture.
What we implemented: Pilot Tool
Over the course of 13 months, Monicat Data partnered with Forecast Public Art in the development of its pilot tool—implementing a system complimenting their current website framework and self-management capabilities for the Forecast Public Art team.
Five cities in Minnesota were selected by Forecast to participate in the pilot project in the development and beta testing the tool in 2017 and 2018: Austin, Mankato, Red Wing, Rochester, and Winona.
What Was Gained:
Tool development support provided by Monicat Data: On-Site Discovery Sessions, Learning Tool Requirements & Development, Learning Tool - Testing & Refinement, and Learning Tool - Final Refinement and Training.
Through partnership, Forecast Public Art obtained an initial pilot learning tool for beta testing to distribute to is targeted MN markets.
